To connect machines, people and data & to enable "people to machine" and "machine to machine" interactions.

Components of IoT:

1.Physical Components:

It includes Mechanical and Electrical components.

2.Smart Components:

It includes smart components such as sensors/processors and analysis of the data exchanged or transferred.

3.Connectivity:

It can be data of product to cloud, or between devices, etc. Connectivity can be done in various ways.
